WARNING: This article is rife with spolers so if you haven’t watched the finale yet, you might want to come back later…. Despite media disinformation warning fans of the contrary, no one needs to riot because Daryl was not killed off of The Walking Dead last night. There was some speculation that because he put his Atlanta house up for sale and was scheduled to appear on the Talking Dead after the finale that he might be the next to go but refreshingly, no major characters saw their end. In fact, it was quite an uplifting episode, by Walking Dead standards…. Here are some of the highlights….
Rosita’s mad bandaging skills – I know Ric and the other guy were supposed to look like they really jacked each other up, but I think they could’ve gone without at least six bandaids each. Don’t they need to conserve supplies in the zombie apocalypse?
Although, what’s really funny is that they were staying true to the comic on this one:
Midieval Ric - Wow, I never would’ve expected Ric to have such a hard time adjusting to civilian life again. I know he’s been through a lot but to go from the pig farmer to showing up every five minutes ranting with blood all over his face, the guy has really gone off the deep end.
Glenn and Nicholas’ post-apocalyptic foreplay – They’ve almost killed each other several times already. Either they need to hug it out and be best friends or someone should start keeping score.
Deanna finally seeing the light (or is it the dark?) – I honestly don’t know why there wasn’t any town meetings about ousting Pete. It seems everyone knew he was abusing his wife and kids but no one did anything about it. Here’s her big chance at creating a utopia and Deanna decides that domestic violence is going to be allowed? What a load of crap! Glad she finally realized that Ric was right, at least, because there’s a gang out there called The Wolves who might be a hybrid of a gang from the comics called The Scavengers ….
and another gang who wears walker skin to blend in called The Whisperers:
Morgan’s back… again – Every time I see this guy I get happy, especially now that he’s regained his sanity. And just in time, too, because Ric has just about lost his.
Gabriel – Lord Jesus forgive me because last night when Gabriel held his arms out to that walker I started cheering “Eat him! Eat that piece of shit!” I knew he was going to leave the gate open, too. And the horrible things he was saying to Sasha? He definitely doesn’t deserve to be anyone’s priest. That guy has really got to go before he gets everyone killed… again.
Michonne and Ric – When are these two going to get together? I’m so tired of Ric’s taste in women. He definitely has a type: annoying and stupid. What he can’t see is the perfect woman for him is right there in front of him. What Michonne made him realize was that he really can trust her. She’s Team Ric all the way and nothing, not even some perfect little town, is going to change that. I just love these two.
Abraham and Eugene make up while Tara sleeps – I have to say, I am really enjoying the addition of these characters to the core group. I love how Eugene found his cajones in time to save Tara. I love how butt hurt Abraham got over Eugene’s big lie and how Rosita facilitated their apologies. And to top it all off, Tara woke up in the end.
You see Kirkman, you don’t need to kill off main chcharacters to make a good episode. On a side note, if you stay through to the end of The Talking Dead, youll get to see a Carol cosplayer completely ignore Norman Reedus while fawning over Melissa McBride…..
Until October….
